Powered two-wheelers can play a key role in improving air quality, while providing a great contributor to mental and physical health.
That’s according to the Motorcycle Industry Association (MCIA).
The MCIA has spoken out to highlight the benefits of powered two-wheelers (PTWs) to coincide with Clean Air Day, which took place on 17 June.
It says that manufacturers of low and zero emission PTWs are contributing to a greener future whilst also offering a transport solution that reduces fuel costs and journey times.
Tony Campbell, CEO of MCIA, said: “Clean Air Day highlights the importance of creating a greener environment for our families.
“Not only do PTWs offer zero and low emissions which of course reduce pollution, there are also the additional time and mental health benefits associated with riding.”
The MCIA has a policy document which highlights the vital role PTWs can play in future transport.
The Route to Tomorrow’s Journeys, which is free to access, says there are savings to be made both environmentally and economically by choosing a PTW or other form of powered light vehicle (PLV).
