The National Young Rider Forum (NYRF) is hosting a webinar next week to mark the launch of the Young Riders Matter research report, a study that sheds light on the experiences and challenges faced by today’s young motorcyclists.
Taking place between 10-11:30am on Tuesday 10 February, the webinar will also look at how the research project, funded by The Road Safety Trust, links to the recently published National Road Safety Strategy and its subsequent consultations.
Building on NYRF’s strong foundation since its creation in 2019, this new research revisits the original 2020 project with five years of fresh data, surveys, and interviews with young riders, as well as a review of the forums’ work over the past five years.
The report examines how economic pressures, the gig economy, and the cost-of-living crisis are influencing the way young riders utilise motorcycles for work, education, and leisure.
Speakers will include Fay Cannon, Warwickshire Road Safety Partnership Co-ordinator, Heidy Duffy MBE, facilitator of the NYRF, and Samuel Scott, Senior Consultant at the transport safety research and lobbying group Agilysis.
This webinar is designed for anyone interested in knowing more about:
- The latest trends and behaviours among young riders.
- The risks and motivations that influence this group.
- Support in replying to the government’s consultation as part of the National Road Safety Strategy
Attendees will learn how, through the NYRF, they can inform policy, develop interventions, and create campaigns to make a real change.
